People, characters, stories and the subtleties of life. I mostly enjoy working with documentary portraits. People’s emotions, thoughts and experiencies fascinate me and these are also the things I want to depict in my photographs.
The important thing for me is not only the outcome (the picture), but the whole process: I strive for becoming acquainted with the person or subject at hand and for capturing thoughts, ideas and emotions. The greatest achievement is to connect with the person you are working with and to get her/him to experience something meaningful. Reportages also fascinate me with their vivid themes.
At best, stories are from real life but the fictive photo narration can also captivate the mind much like a short film. By creating your own world with the perfect set and illumination, you can reach the finest forms of visual beauty.
